I felt defeated as I clearly recalled the message he had wrote on the back of that photo, the way he had scribbled PH1. I read it in his voice as he told me to follow my own advice referencing the quote I had chosen for my sculpture. I walked over to the number pad and pressed the option for the PH floor. I was tired of fighting. I was pushed towards the back as more people continued to file onto the elevator. I looked down as I knew people would look at my face and know that I was less than an hour married and already I was lusting after a man who wasn’t my new fiancé turned husband. The elevator let someone out on three and before the elevators could close, I yelled: “excuse me, someone press four for me please.”
I got off and jogged to the room I shared with Torre last night. Torre was running out when I reached the door.
“Girl, hurry up, this whole party is for you.” She said teasing me and doing a fast walk to the elevator.
“He confronted me, Torre.”
“Who?”
“You know who. He cornered me. Told me he had to get it off of his chest before I got married. Told me I made him high. Told me that…” I stopped to laugh, and it took me a minute to gain my composure. “He told me to meet him in his room before the ceremony so that we could talk. Told me I owed it to myself to at least have this talk.”
“What?!” Torre stopped smiling.
“Yea girl, the day of my wedding. Talking about he has a room on the PH level.”
“Hey, hey, hey! Damn all of that and forget about Jeremy, okay. This is your wedding day Cassidy.”
I looked up so quick I almost snapped my own damn neck. I looked around as if others in the room could overhear us, but we were alone.
“I never mentioned it was Jeremy.”
“Girl he looks at you like you’re an entrée and he couldn’t care less if other people see him admiring you. The only reason Anna don’t notice is because she has her eyes on every other guy that walks past her.”
“What the hell am I going to do Torre.”
“What?” she clutched her pearls for emphasis. “What you mean what are you going to do? You’re going to change and come out here and celebrate your wedding day with your husband. Before long Anna gone sniff out someone else and Jeremy won’t have a reason to come around. He might try at first but trust me ignore his ass. Im sure after tonight you will see a little less of him. Just kick it with your husband and dance with him in a way that lets everyone know you have everything that you need.” She snapped her fingers and hurried back out the room to tend to the reception guests.
“Shit, I yelled to absolutely no one but I wanted everyone to hear it. Or maybe just the right someone. I changed out of my wedding dress and into my reception gown. The back dipped down to the crease of my ass which is why I had cups sewn into the front. I changed shoes, placed my hand on the bible and asked for forgiveness in advance. My mind had returned, and I wished that Torre would have stayed with me a while longer. I got on the elevator and rode it down to the lobby.
When the doors opened, I just looked out at everyone scurrying past. I allowed the doors to close without my departure. I took my bridal flask out of my purse and swigged as much Tequila as I could. I selected the PH level for the second time tonight. I don’t know what it was about me that couldn’t help playing with fire until I got burned but I was ready to play. I remembered the note that Eli had given me and pulled it out my bra. I wanted to make sure that he didn’t need anything. Scribbled across the post it in Eli’s handwriting were the words “I swapped out our room for one with a balcony. Let’s test it out real quick and go to our party with a sensual high Meet me in PH suite 2”.
I sat in the irony of the situation and just paused as everything that could happen went through my brain. There were some angels interested in me getting this right because they knew I was up to no good and they were just trying to re-route me back to my husband. I sighed, PH 2 it was. I looked up and sent a quick ‘Thank You’ prayer.
I relied on the numbers on the wall to tell me which way to go. Since reading the note I felt stronger. That’s a good sign, right? When the thought of someone makes you stronger. I had to take a left off of the elevator and then Ph1 was to the left and Ph2 was to the right. I reached the end of the hall and smiled while turning to the right, excited to see my husband, kiss him, hug him, and get a good release before going to party for the rest of the night.
I did not get a chance to do any of those things.
Right there before you could get to PH2, literally the devil at heaven’s gate. Jeremy grabbed me. I let his thick lips massage mine until they gave way and let his tongue through. The softness of his beard through me off-guard but it was pleasant and smelled nice. He kissed me like he would be paid a bonus for satisfaction and I’ll be damned if I didn’t kiss his fine ass back. The kisses started out slow with a slight pressure. Like a soft question but it turned ravenous quickly as control seemed to slip from Jeremy’s hands.
A must read!! I need more!

Thank You! I appreciate the feedback, I really do. I’m back in the lab finishing up Precious Cargo and we have a couple characters from Left at the Alter that are going to cross over. We will see a little more of what we didn’t know about Jeremy’s relationship with one of the twins.

This story was exactly what I thought it was going to be, but I absolutely LOVED the story. I didn’t think it would end like that in the beginning, but I am not surprised at all at the outcome. You have written some wonderful characters. Very real and recognizable. Thank you for sharing!
